During my work with the Technical Assistance Center, for the first time I had access to real performance data about my team and the impact they were having on the organization. The only problem was, I was the only one who could see it, and then only after custom SQL queries and a lot of Excel work. After automating much of my metrics collection and dissemination using a combination of Excel PowerQuery and macros, I discovered Tableau.
Since then I have taken every opportunity to learn more about data visualization and enabling insights with tools like Tableau and Power BI, and to that end I moved over to Harris Space & Intelligence Systems segment to be a Business Intelligence Analyst.
